Coastal Derby Ends in Defeat for Molde
Aker Stadion hosted one of the most anticipated fixtures of the autumn programme on 19 September, as Aalesund made the trip up the coast for a west-coast Eliteserien derby. The visitors left Molde with all three points, winning 2-1 after leading 2-0 at half-time.
It was a difficult evening for the home side, who found themselves two goals down before the interval and could only halve the deficit in the second period. The result will have stung in front of what is typically one of the most vocal home crowds of the Eliteserien season.
A Packed Autumn Still Has Much to Offer
Despite the derby disappointment, there is plenty still to play for at Aker Stadion. The 11,249-capacity fjordside ground remains one of the busiest football venues in Norway this autumn, with further Eliteserien home fixtures scheduled against Start, Fredrikstad, Bodø/Glimt and Viking stretching all the way to 6 December.

Molde W have been a consistent presence at Aker Stadion throughout 2026, and the Toppserien calendar keeps the stadium busy on weekends when the men are away. Earlier in September, Molde W hosted Hønefoss, falling 1-0 at home on 13 September.
Next up for the women's side is a Toppserien home fixture against Stabæk W on 4 October, keeping the fjordside arena firmly in matchday mode as October arrives.

Visiting colours are restricted to the designated away section, and bottles are not permitted anywhere inside the stadium.
