Three home fixtures in August 2026 kept Aker Stadion in near-constant use across both the Eliteserien and Toppserien. A 3–3 draw with Sarpsborg 08, a Sunday evening visit from Tromsø and a women's top-flight clash with LSK Kvinner all took place at the fjordside arena within the space of three weeks.
A Month Like No Other at the Fjord
Aker Stadion has rarely been busier than it was during August 2026. The 11,249-capacity venue on the shores of the Moldefjord staged three home fixtures across the men's and women's top-flight programmes — a run that stretched the ground's infrastructure and rewarded supporters with back-to-back weekends of elite football.
The month opened on 2 August with a pulsating Eliteserien encounter against Sarpsborg 08 FF, which ended 3–3 in a fixture that set the tone for a breathless few weeks ahead.
Tromsø Arrive, Eyes on the Table
The centrepiece of August's home calendar arrived on Sunday 16 August, when Tromsø IL visited for Round 18 of the Eliteserien. Kick-off was set for 17:00, and Molde came into the fixture sitting fifth in the table with 24 points — making the three points on offer particularly precious.
As with all high-profile home matches, away supporters were directed to the designated section on the Istad tribune, with bottles and away colours prohibited in all other areas of the ground. Tickets were available through the official Molde FK ticketing platform ahead of the match.
Women's Football Takes Centre Stage
Just six days after the Tromsø fixture, on 22 August, Aker Stadion turned its attention to the Toppserien. Molde W welcomed LSK Kvinner W in Round 13 of the 2026 season, with kick-off scheduled for 14:00.
The fixture was part of a season-long arrangement that has seen Aker Stadion serve as the permanent home ground for Molde W throughout the entire 2026 campaign — a commitment that cements the arena's standing as a genuine dual-purpose top-flight venue.

With a restaurant, café, ten kiosks, eight commentary boxes and capacity for over 11,000 supporters, Aker Stadion is well equipped to handle the varied demands of three fixtures in a single month. The ground's waterfront location, designed by Molde architect Kjell Kosberg with a granite and glass frontage, provides a distinctive backdrop that few venues in Norway can match.
With six further Eliteserien home fixtures scheduled through to December — including visits from Bodø/Glimt and Viking — the autumn promises to be every bit as busy as the summer.
