Aker Stadion Faces a Packed August of Top-Flight Football
Aker Stadion is set for a relentless run of fixtures throughout August, hosting both Eliteserien and Toppserien matches on successive weekends. The busy schedule follows a July that included a community memorial match alongside a high-stakes league clash with SK Brann. Men's and women's football will both take centre stage at the fjordside arena.
A Summer Packed with Football at the Fjord
Aker Stadion is heading into one of its busiest periods of the year. Following the high-profile Eliteserien clash with SK Brann in July — which also came just days after the stadium hosted a Minnekamp memorial match on 13 July — the venue faces a packed schedule of top-flight football running through the whole of August.
The memorial match, with kick-off at 17:00, illustrated the breadth of the stadium's role in the Molde community, serving the city well beyond its duties as a league football ground.
Men's and Women's Football Share the Stage
On the Eliteserien side, Molde host Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August, before welcoming Tromsø on 16 August. Both fixtures will test a squad looking to climb the table after their recent home defeat.
Women's football then takes centre stage on 22 August, when Molde W face LSK Kvinner in a Toppserien Round 13 fixture, with kick-off at 14:00. The scheduling means Aker Stadion will host elite-level football across both the men's and women's game within the same month — a testament to the venue's importance to Norwegian football at every level.
A Stadium Built for the Community
Opened on 18 April 1998 and designed by Molde architect Kjell Kosberg, Aker Stadion holds 11,249 spectators and features a restaurant, café, ten kiosks and eight commentary boxes. Its location by the Romsdal fjord makes it one of the most scenic football venues in Norway.
Tickets for all upcoming home fixtures are available through the official Molde FK ticketing platform. With so much football on the horizon, supporters are encouraged to secure their seats early.
