Aker Stadion Faces Packed Run of Home Fixtures in August
From a community memorial match in July to back-to-back Eliteserien and Toppserien home games this month, Aker Stadion is at the centre of Molde's football life. Fans are urged to book ahead for the Tromsø clash on 16 August and the women's home game on 22 August.
A Stadium for the Whole Community
Aker Stadion is gearing up for one of its busiest stretches of the 2026 season, with a run of home fixtures in the Eliteserien and Toppserien set to fill the stands through to the end of August. Following the 3–3 draw with Sarpsborg 08 on 2 August, the venue hosts Tromsø in the Eliteserien on 16 August and then welcomes Molde W's Toppserien clash against LSK Kvinner W on 22 August.
The varied programme is a hallmark of a stadium that has long functioned as more than just a football ground. Earlier this summer, on 13 July, Aker Stadion hosted a Minnekamp — a community memorial match — just days before Molde's high-profile Eliteserien encounter with SK Brann, demonstrating the range of events the arena accommodates in a single week.
Facilities Ready for the Rush
With a capacity of 11,249, Aker Stadion is well equipped to handle the surge in matchday visitors. The venue's infrastructure includes a restaurant, a café, ten kiosks and eight commentary boxes — catering to supporters and media alike.
The stadium has featured an artificial turf surface since 2014, a factor that allows matches to be staged reliably throughout the Norwegian season regardless of weather conditions. Opened on 18 April 1998 and designed by Molde architect Kjell Kosberg, the arena was built at a cost of 212 million kroner, funded by Kjell Inge Røkke and Bjørn Rune Gjelsten.
How to Get Your Tickets
Fans wishing to attend any of the upcoming home fixtures — including the Tromsø derby on 16 August and the women's match against LSK Kvinner W on 22 August — can purchase tickets through the official Molde FK ticketing platform.
With Molde sitting fifth in the Eliteserien and firmly in the mix for a European push, demand for seats at the fjord-side stadium is expected to be high. Supporters are advised to secure their places early.
