Aker Stadion's Busiest Month: Three Home Games in August
Aker Stadion served as a near-permanent matchday venue throughout August 2026, hosting three Eliteserien fixtures plus Toppserien action within a single month. The intense schedule showcased both the flexibility and the capacity of Molde's waterfront arena ahead of a packed autumn fixture list.
Three Games, One Month
Aker Stadion has rarely been busier than it was across August 2026. Molde FK's home schedule squeezed in three Eliteserien fixtures — against Sarpsborg 08, Tromsø IL and SK Brann — across a single calendar month, keeping the waterfront arena in near-constant matchday mode throughout the summer stretch.
The run opened with a dramatic 3–3 draw against Sarpsborg 08 on 2 August, before Tromsø arrived on 16 August and Brann brought the home month to a close. With league matches, the Norwegian Cup and women's football all on the calendar, Aker Stadion also hosted LSK Kvinner as part of Toppserien action during the same period.
An Arena Built for This
Aker Stadion's infrastructure — with 10 kiosks, 52 toilets, a restaurant, a café and dedicated press facilities including eight commentary boxes — is well suited to absorbing a high volume of events in a short space of time. The 11,200-capacity ground, designed by Molde architect Kjell Kosberg and set against the backdrop of the Romsdal fjord, regularly draws crowds averaging around 6,800 for league matches this season.
The stadium's artificial surface allows fixtures to be scheduled flexibly, a factor that proved useful when a Norwegian Cup tie was relocated to Aker Stadion earlier in the season.
Looking Ahead
After the August intensity, the next home date at Aker Stadion is the Eliteserien Round 20 fixture against KFUM Oslo on 6 September at 17:00. Round 22 then brings local rivals Aalesund to the stadium on 19 September, promising another high-demand matchday for supporters and staff alike.
Tickets for both matches are available through the club's official website, and fans are encouraged to book early given the strong attendances the venue has seen throughout the 2026 season.
