Aker Stadion has just hosted its busiest home month of the 2026 season, squeezing three fixtures into August alone. The run featured a high-stakes Eliteserien clash with Tromsø and closed with a Toppserien tie for Molde W. Five more Eliteserien home games now await before the December curtain call.
Molde's Busiest Home Month of the Season
Aker Stadion has served as the centrepiece of Molde FK's August schedule, with three home fixtures packed into a single month — the most of any month in the 2026 season. The run began with Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August and reached its headline act when Tromsø IL visited the fjordside arena on Sunday 16 August for a pivotal Eliteserien round-17 encounter.
With Molde sitting fifth in the Eliteserien table on 24 points heading into the match, the three points were considered crucial for a side with ambitions of breaking into the top four before the season's final stretch.
Triple-Header Closes with Toppserien Debut
Just six days after the Tromsø clash, the stadium switched to women's football as Molde W hosted LSK Kvinner W on 22 August in round 13 of the Toppserien. The women's side has used Aker Stadion as their permanent home ground throughout the 2026 campaign, underlining the venue's role as a genuine dual-purpose arena for top-flight football on both sides.
The back-to-back scheduling of men's and women's fixtures within the same week is a deliberate part of how the club positions Aker Stadion — not merely as a matchday venue, but as a community hub for Norwegian football at the highest level.
What Awaits at Aker Stadion This Autumn
The August triple-header is just the opening act of a packed home programme. Five further Eliteserien fixtures are scheduled at the 11,249-capacity ground before the year is out: KFUM on 6 September, Aalesund on 19 September, Start on 18 October, Bodø/Glimt on 22 November and Viking on 6 December.
Tickets for all remaining home matches are available through the official Molde FK ticketing platform. Supporters attending away-supported fixtures are reminded that visiting colours are restricted to the designated section on the Istad tribune, and that bottles are not permitted anywhere inside the ground.
