Aker Stadium has suffered two home defeats in seven days, with Molde FK losing 1-2 to Aalesund in the Eliteserien derby on 19 September and Molde W going down 0-4 to Vålerenga W on Saturday. The twin setbacks leave both sides searching for a response as an already packed autumn schedule rolls on.
A Tough Week on Home Turf
Aker Stadium has endured a difficult week, with both of Molde's senior sides suffering home defeats in the space of seven days.
First, Molde FK fell to a 1-2 loss against Aalesund in the Eliteserien west-coast derby on 19 September — going in two goals down at half-time before pulling one back after the break. Then, on Saturday 26 September, Molde W were beaten 0-4 by Vålerenga W in a Toppserien Round 17 fixture that was equally one-sided, with the visitors already leading at the interval.
Vålerenga W Dominate in the Afternoon Sun
The women's match was the more emphatic of the two defeats. Vålerenga W took control early, leading through Arnesen at half-time before goals from Brekken, Preus, and a Hegg penalty rounded off a commanding 4-0 victory.
The result leaves Molde W with questions to answer as the Toppserien season moves into its final stretch. It is the second successive home defeat for the women's side in September, a run that will concern the coaching staff ahead of a busy October.

Despite the difficult results, Aker Stadium retains its status as one of Norway's most active shared football venues in 2026. The 11,249-capacity arena on the Romsdalsfjord has hosted top-flight football almost every weekend this autumn, staging Eliteserien matches for Molde FK alongside Molde W's full Toppserien home programme.
Several Eliteserien home fixtures remain for the men's side, with Start, Fredrikstad, Bodø/Glimt, and Viking all yet to make the trip to Molde. For the women's team, the immediate focus turns to Sunday 4 October, when Stabæk W visit Aker Stadium at 1:00 PM — a chance to bounce back on home turf.
