From Community Minnekamp to Midwinter Derby: Aker Stadion's 2026
Aker Stadion is having one of its busiest and most varied years, hosting everything from a community memorial match in July to a season-closing Eliteserien derby in December. The packed schedule covers both the men's and women's top-flight programmes, with the fixture list running all the way to 6 December 2026.
From Memorial Match to Midwinter Derby
Aker Stadion is enjoying one of its most eventful years on record. The 2026 calendar opened with a community Minnekamp — a memorial match — on 13 July, a fixture that had nothing to do with league points but everything to do with the stadium's place at the heart of Molde.
That occasion illustrated something the 11,249-seat capacity and ten kiosks do not fully capture: the arena's role as a gathering point for the people of Molde, whatever the occasion.
A Fixture List That Runs to December
From that community afternoon in July, the schedule stretches all the way to 6 December 2026, when Viking visit for what will be the final Eliteserien home game of the season. In between, Aker Stadion will host KFUM Oslo, Aalesund, Start, Fredrikstad and Bodø/Glimt in the men's league, while the Toppserien women's programme brings its own set of matchdays to the fjordside ground.
The stadium's artificial surface — laid in 2014 specifically to enable year-round play — is what makes a fixture in the depths of a Norwegian December possible, a practical advantage that few arenas at this level can match.
Built for Every Occasion
Equipped with a restaurant, a café, ten kiosks and eight commentary boxes, Aker Stadion is designed to serve the full spectrum of matchday needs, from a midwinter league night to a sun-drenched summer afternoon in the Toppserien.
With both the men's Eliteserien programme and Molde W's Toppserien campaign running simultaneously through the venue, 2026 has confirmed Aker Stadion as the definitive home of football on the Romsdal fjord — in all its forms, and for all its supporters.
