One Ground, Two Giants: Aker Stadion's Busiest Autumn Yet
Aker Stadion is in the middle of its most intense and varied season in recent memory, simultaneously serving as the full-time home ground for both Molde FK and Molde W across the Norwegian top flights. With men's and women's fixtures alternating in close succession through to December, the fjordside arena is operating at the heart of Norwegian football this autumn.
Two Squads, One Home
Aker Stadion has cemented its status as one of Norway's most active dual-purpose football venues this season, hosting top-flight fixtures for both Molde FK in the Eliteserien and Molde W in the Toppserien across a packed shared calendar.
The 11,249-capacity arena on the shores of the Romsdalsfjord has been in near-constant use since February, with August alone producing three home fixtures — the most of any single month in 2026 — spanning both the men's and women's top flights.
Women's Football Firmly at Home Here
Molde W have used Aker Stadion as their permanent base for every Toppserien fixture of the 2026 campaign, bringing a wider and more diverse matchday programme to supporters in the region.
The arrangement has already produced back-to-back weekends of top-flight action at the fjordside ground, and the pattern will continue when Molde W host Vålerenga W on September 26 — just one week after the men's side's home meeting with Aalesund.
An Autumn to Remember
With further Toppserien fixtures to follow — including Molde W's home date with Stabæk W on October 4 — the stadium's full matchday offering will remain firmly in demand throughout the autumn.
The venue's facilities, including a restaurant, café, ten kiosks and eight commentary boxes, will continue to be tested well into the Norwegian winter. Supporters attending any fixture are reminded that bottles are not permitted inside the ground, and that all standard ground regulations apply regardless of which team is at home.
