Tromsø, LSK and a Diary That Runs to December
Aker Stadion is in the middle of a relentless run of home football, with Eliteserien and Toppserien fixtures arriving almost week after week. The men's side host Tromsø on 16 August before the women welcome LSK Kvinner six days later — and the schedule does not ease until the final whistle in December.
A Packed Month on the Fjord
Aker Stadion is living through one of its busiest stretches in recent memory. After hosting a Minnekamp — a community memorial match — on 13 July, and the high-profile Eliteserien visit of SK Brann on 18 July, the venue barely had time to draw breath before the men's side welcomed Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August.
Next up for Molde FK on home soil is the Eliteserien clash with Tromsø on 16 August, giving supporters another chance to pack the 11,249-capacity ground on the shores of the fjord.
Women's Football in the Spotlight
Six days after the Tromsø fixture, the focus shifts to the Toppserien as Molde's women's side host LSK Kvinner on 22 August, with kick-off scheduled for 14:00. The match forms part of Round 13 of the 2026 Toppserien season and underlines Aker Stadion's growing role as a genuine dual-purpose venue.
The women's programme has added real colour to the stadium calendar this summer. Molde W drew 3–3 with Haugesund W earlier in the season and fell 3–2 to Rosenborg W in May, making the LSK Kvinner fixture a significant opportunity to secure three points in front of a home crowd.
The Venue Behind the Action
Opened on 18 April 1998 and designed by Molde architect Kjell Kosberg, Aker Stadion was built at a cost of 212 million kroner — funded by Kjell Inge Røkke and Bjørn Rune Gjelsten. An artificial turf surface, installed in 2014, allows the arena to stage matches deep into the Norwegian winter.
With a restaurant, café, ten kiosks and eight commentary boxes, the stadium is equipped to serve every kind of matchday crowd. The season stretches all the way to December, with further Eliteserien home fixtures confirmed against KFUM, Aalesund, Start, Fredrikstad, Bodø/Glimt and Viking — ensuring the lights above the fjord will stay on well into the dark months.
