Tromsø Showdown Headlines Aker Stadion's Busiest August Yet
Molde FK take on Tromsø IL at Aker Stadion this Sunday in what is the standout fixture of a three-match home programme in August 2026. A 3-3 draw with Sarpsborg 08 FF has sharpened the appetite for three points at the fjordside ground. Molde W's Toppserien clash with LSK Kvinner W follows just six days later.
Tromsø Come to Town
Aker Stadion is preparing to host one of its most eagerly awaited fixtures of the Eliteserien calendar, as Tromsø IL visit Molde on Sunday 16 August. Kick-off is set for 17:00, and the contest comes at a pivotal moment for a Molde side currently sitting fifth in the table on 24 points, with three points very much the target at their fjordside home.
The match follows a dramatic 3-3 draw with Sarpsborg 08 FF at Aker Stadion on 2 August that opened the club's home programme for the month, leaving supporters hungry for a positive result on home soil.
A Packed Month at Aker Stadion
The Tromsø clash is the centrepiece of what has become the stadium's busiest home stretch of the 2026 season. August delivers no fewer than three home fixtures across the men's and women's programmes, giving supporters back-to-back weekends of top-flight football at the same venue.
Just six days after the Tromsø meeting, the spotlight shifts to the women's game when Molde W welcome LSK Kvinner W in Round 13 of the Toppserien on 22 August, with kick-off at 12:00. It is the latest in a series of home appearances that has established Aker Stadion as a full-season base for the women's team throughout 2026.
Ground Rules for Away Supporters
With visiting fans expected for the Tromsø fixture, stadium staff have reminded supporters that the away section is restricted to the designated area of the Istad tribune. Bottles and away colours are not permitted in other parts of the ground.
Tickets for both remaining August home matches — Sunday's Eliteserien encounter and the Toppserien fixture the following weekend — are on sale now through the official Molde FK ticketing platform.
The Bigger Picture
With a capacity of 11,249, artificial turf installed in 2014, a restaurant, café, ten kiosks and eight commentary boxes, Aker Stadion is well equipped to handle the variety of crowds that each fixture attracts. The busy August schedule is itself just the opening chapter of a fixture list that runs deep into winter, with further Eliteserien home games against KFUM Oslo, Aalesund, Start, Fredrikstad, Bodø/Glimt and Viking all still to come at the stadium before the season closes in December.
