Tromsø Showdown Opens Aker Stadion's Biggest Home Fortnight
Aker Stadion braces for its most action-packed home stretch of 2026, with Tromsø IL arriving for an Eliteserien clash on 16 August before Molde W host LSK Kvinner W in the Toppserien six days later. The double-header gives supporters two successive weekends of top-flight football by the fjord. Tickets for both fixtures are available now through the official Molde FK platform.
Tromsø Come to Town
Aker Stadion is gearing up for one of the most eagerly anticipated home fixtures of the Eliteserien season, with Tromsø IL arriving on Sunday 16 August for a 17:00 kick-off. The match comes hot on the heels of Molde FK's dramatic 3–3 draw against Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August, which gave the home faithful a taste of the drama the fjordside arena can produce.
With a capacity of 11,249, Aker Stadion is set to host a full and vibrant crowd for the occasion. Supporters are reminded that Tromsø fans are restricted to the designated section on the Istad tribune, and that bottles and away colours are not permitted in other areas of the ground.
Tickets for Sunday's match are on sale through the official Molde FK ticketing platform.
A Double-Header Weekend by the Fjord
The Tromsø clash is only the first act in a packed fortnight at Aker Stadion. Just six days later, on 22 August, the spotlight shifts to the women's game as Molde W host LSK Kvinner W in Round 13 of the 2026 Toppserien, with kick-off scheduled for 12:00.
The Toppserien fixture is part of a season-long arrangement that has seen Aker Stadion serve as the permanent home base for Molde W throughout 2026, a commitment that underlines the club's investment in the women's game at the highest level.
The Busiest Stretch of the Season
The back-to-back home weekends mark the most intense home fortnight of Aker Stadion's 2026 calendar, and the venue's infrastructure is well placed to cope. The ground's restaurant, café, ten kiosks and eight commentary boxes cater for the varied audiences that each fixture attracts — from the passionate Eliteserien faithful on Sunday evening to the growing women's football crowd the following weekend.
Looking further ahead, the autumn fixture list remains loaded. Further Eliteserien home games against KFUM Oslo, Aalesund, Start, Fredrikstad, Bodø/Glimt and Viking are all scheduled, ensuring the stadium will rarely sit idle between now and December.
