Aker Stadion is living through its most action-packed home fortnight of the 2026 season. An Eliteserien clash with Tromsø IL on 16 August was followed just six days later by a Toppserien fixture as Molde W hosted LSK Kvinner W, giving supporters back-to-back top-flight football by the fjord.
Aker Stadion's Busiest Home Fortnight of the Season
After Molde FK opened August with a pulsating 3–3 draw against Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August, the fjordside arena hosted its next Eliteserien fixture on Sunday 16 August — a Round 17 encounter against Tromsø IL, with kick-off at 17:00. The match represented the second of three home fixtures packed into a single month, making August the busiest home stretch of the 2026 season at Aker Stadion.
The ground, which holds 11,249 supporters, was primed for a full and vibrant crowd. Supporters attending the Tromsø clash were reminded that bottles are not permitted inside the stadium, and that away colours are restricted to the designated away section on the Istad tribune — field K — and are not allowed on the Sparebanken Møre, Sylte or south-side tribunes.
Women's Football Takes Centre Stage Days Later
Just six days after the Tromsø fixture, the spotlight at Aker Stadion shifted to the women's game. On 22 August, Molde W hosted LSK Kvinner W in Round 13 of the 2026 Toppserien, with kick-off scheduled for 12:00.
The fixture is part of a season-long arrangement that sees Aker Stadion serve as the permanent home base for Molde W throughout 2026 — a commitment that underlines the club's investment in the women's game and reinforces the ground's identity as a shared top-flight venue for both sides.
A Stadium Built for the Full Picture
Aker Stadion's infrastructure makes it well placed to cater for the varied audiences each fixture attracts. The arena features a restaurant, a café, ten kiosks and eight commentary boxes, all within a ground that has been laid with artificial turf since 2014 — enabling matches to be staged throughout the Norwegian season regardless of conditions.
