Molde see off Strømsgodset 4-1 at Aker Stadion

Molde beat Strømsgodset 4-1 at Aker Stadion on Wednesday night after leading 2-1 at half-time. It was their third home win in just over a week, and they have scored 15 goals in those three games. Attention now turns to Saturday's visit of Bodø/Glimt W.

A Midweek Win Built Before the Break

Molde beat Strømsgodset 4-1 at Aker Stadion on Wednesday 28 October. The tie was listed as a Norwegian Cup round and was played at the 11,249-capacity ground. Molde led 2-1 at half-time and finished the night three goals clear.

The match data records goals inside the first 20 minutes. One came at 10 minutes, and the equaliser came at 20 minutes to make it 1-1. Molde then went into the interval ahead. The final goal arrived deep in stoppage time, in the 95th minute. It made the score 4-1 and completed a heavy home win.

Fifteen Goals in Three Home Games

The win was the third in a run of home matches at Aker Stadion in just over a week. Molde beat Start 6-1 on 18 October and Fredrikstad 5-1 on 25 October. Wednesday's 4-1 means the side has scored 15 goals across those three home games. They have conceded only three.

Each opponent did get a goal at the fjordside ground. Even so, the margins were large every time: five goals, four goals and three goals. For supporters, that has made for a run of entertaining evenings at Aker Stadion.

Molde in the Eliteserien Picture

Molde's league form is part of the same story, even though this was a cup night. In the Eliteserien table, they sit third with 43 points from 24 games. That is 13 behind leaders Viking, who have 59. Bodø/Glimt are second on 56. Rosenborg and Tromsø follow on 40 points each, so third place is far from settled.

Strømsgodset, for their part, were not in the Eliteserien table supplied for this report. That fits the cup setting of Wednesday's tie.

Back at Aker Stadion on Saturday

The stadium will stay busy. Molde W are listed to face Bodø/Glimt W on Saturday 31 October at 2:00 PM. The women's side are the second team to use Aker Stadion this autumn. They play after a home run in which the men's side scored freely.

The Eliteserien title race remains tight at the top, and the cup ties continue alongside it. Molde's recent home form at Aker Stadion has given the fans plenty to be pleased about. Supporters will hope the good results carry into the weekend.
