Aker Stadion stepped beyond its role as a football ground this summer, hosting a Minnekamp — a memorial match — on Monday, 13 July 2026, with kick-off at 17:00. The occasion came just days before Molde FK's high-stakes Eliteserien clash with SK Brann, illustrating the stadium's deep roots in the wider Molde community.
Opened on 18 April 1998 and designed by local architect Kjell Kosberg, the stadium was built at a cost of 212 million kroner, funded by Kjell Inge Røkke and Bjørn Rune Gjelsten. Nearly three decades on, it continues to serve purposes that stretch well beyond league football.
A Summer Packed with Fixtures
The Minnekamp was just one highlight in a busy summer schedule at the stadium. Both the men's and women's sides of Molde FK have been in regular action through July and into August, keeping the Eliteserien and Toppserien calendars full on the fjordside ground.
Upcoming home dates include Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August and Tromsø on 16 August in the Eliteserien, along with a Toppserien encounter when Molde W host LSK Kvinner W on 22 August.
