The stadium hosted a Minnekamp — a memorial match — on Monday 13 July 2026, with kick-off at 17:00, just days before the high-stakes league visit of SK Brann.
The occasion brought together the club and the wider Molde community in a moment of reflection and togetherness, underscoring the stadium's role as one of the most important civic spaces on the Norwegian west coast.
A Packed and Emotionally Charged Summer Schedule
The Minnekamp was only the opening act of a busy and emotionally loaded week at Aker Stadion. The memorial fixture gave way to the Brann Eliteserien clash just five days later, meaning the ground hosted two very different but equally meaningful gatherings within the same short stretch.
Opened on 18 April 1998 and designed by Molde architect Kjell Kosberg, the stadium was built at a cost of 212 million kroner — funded by Kjell Inge Røkke and Bjørn Rune Gjelsten. Its granite and glass waterfront façade has become one of Molde's most recognisable landmarks.
Looking Ahead to a Busy Late Summer
The fixture list ensures Aker Stadion will remain at the heart of the action for months to come. Molde host Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August and Tromsø on 16 August in the Eliteserien, while the Toppserien brings Molde W versus LSK Kvinner W on 22 August.
