Aker Stadion: Norway's Busiest Shared Arena Enters Its Biggest Autumn
Aker Stadion is hosting top-flight football for both Molde FK and Molde W across an unusually packed autumn schedule, reinforcing its reputation as one of Norway's most active shared arenas. The action resumes this Sunday when Molde W face Hønefoss BK at 13:00, before Aalesund visit for a men's Eliteserien derby on 19 September. Two Icelandic signings have also bolstered the women's squad ahead of the busy period.
One Ground, Two Teams, One Unmissable Autumn
Aker Stadion is cementing its status as one of Norway's busiest shared football venues in 2026, staging top-flight matches for both Molde FK in the Eliteserien and Molde W in the Toppserien across the same packed autumn calendar. The arrangement has turned the 11,249-capacity arena on the shores of the Romsdalsfjord into a genuine dual-purpose football venue.
Molde W have used Aker Stadion as their permanent home base throughout the entire 2026 Toppserien campaign, a commitment that sees women's and men's fixtures staged in close succession at the same ground.
Women's Match First Up This Weekend
The next match at Aker Stadion arrives on Sunday 13 September at 13:00, when Molde W host Hønefoss BK in a Toppserien fixture. It will be followed just six days later, on 19 September at 18:00, by the men's Eliteserien clash against Aalesund — a fixture that carries clear west-coast rivalry significance for supporters across the region.
The women's squad received a further boost this week after the club announced the arrival of two Icelandic talents, Sóley Ingadóttir and Fanney Jóhannesdóttir, who join Molde's women's A-team having previously competed at the highest level in Iceland. The pair are the latest additions to a squad that has also benefited from a newly renovated dressing room, used for the first time following the summer break.
A Full Calendar Through to December
For supporters at Aker Stadion, the fixtures keep coming well into winter. Beyond the Aalesund derby, Molde FK's remaining Eliteserien home schedule features encounters against Start, Fredrikstad, Bodø/Glimt and Viking, taking the programme all the way through to December. Ground regulations — including restrictions on visiting colours and a ban on bottles inside the arena — apply to all matches, both men's and women's.
