August alone saw three fixtures at the fjordside ground — the most of any month in 2026 — including top-flight men's and women's games on consecutive weekends. The arrangement is set to continue as an action-packed autumn stretches all the way to December.
A Season-Long Commitment to Women's Football
Aker Stadion has cemented its status as one of Norway's premier dual-purpose football venues in 2026, serving as the permanent home ground for Molde W throughout the entire Toppserien season. The arrangement has brought top-flight women's football to the fjordside arena on a consistent basis alongside the men's Eliteserien programme.
The most visible example of the setup came in August, when the stadium hosted both a men's Eliteserien clash with Tromsø IL on 16 August and a Toppserien fixture between Molde W and LSK Kvinner W just six days later on 22 August — completing a genuine double-header spanning both the men's and women's top flights.
A Busy August Sets the Tone
August was the busiest single month of the 2026 season at Aker Stadion, with three home fixtures packed into the calendar. The run opened with a pulsating 3–3 Eliteserien draw against Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August before the Tromsø and Molde W fixtures followed in quick succession.
The women's game at the 11,249-capacity ground — with kick-off at 14:00 on 22 August — underlined the club's investment in both sides of the football operation, offering supporters the chance to experience Toppserien action by the Moldefjord for a second time in the same month.
What the Autumn Holds
With six Eliteserien home games still to come at Aker Stadion before the year is out, and further Toppserien fixtures for Molde W also expected, the stadium's matchday infrastructure — including a restaurant, café, ten kiosks and eight commentary boxes — will continue to be tested well into the Norwegian winter.
