Aker Stadion is cementing its status as one of Norway's most active shared football venues in 2026, with the ground staging top-flight fixtures for both Molde FK and Molde W across a packed autumn calendar. Sunday's Toppserien clash between Molde W and Hønefoss W was the latest in a series of back-to-back home matches that have kept the 11,800-capacity arena in almost constant use throughout September.
The pattern is striking: the men's side beat KFUM Oslo 2–0 on 6 September, the women then hosted Hønefoss on 13 September, and the men return again on 19 September to face Aalesund — three home matches across a fortnight on the same artificial surface.
A Venue Built for This Moment
Molde W have made Aker Stadion their permanent home throughout the entire 2026 Toppserien campaign, a commitment that has transformed the venue into a genuine dual-purpose arena. The arrangement demands careful coordination between both clubs and the stadium operations team, but it has also delivered something rare in Norwegian football: a single ground buzzing with activity at both the elite men's and women's level simultaneously.
With five Eliteserien home games still to play for the men's side and several Toppserien fixtures remaining for the women, the stadium's autumn programme stretches all the way into late autumn — making this arguably the busiest period in Aker Stadion's history.
