The event highlighted the stadium's well-established role as a community gathering point in the city of Molde, going beyond its day-to-day function as a football ground.
Tickets for the memorial match were made available through the official Molde FK ticketing platform.
A Packed and Meaningful Week
The Minnekamp and the subsequent league match against Brann on 18 July made for an emotionally charged and logistically demanding week at the fjordside venue. With a capacity of 11,249 and an artificial turf surface installed in 2014, Aker Stadion is well equipped to handle the variety of events it regularly takes on.
The stadium has been home to Molde FK since its opening on 18 April 1998, designed by architect Kjell Kosberg, and has grown steadily into one of the most recognisable arenas in Norwegian football.
A Long Season Still Ahead
The busy summer period is just the beginning of a packed second half of the season for Aker Stadion. Upcoming home fixtures include Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August, Tromsø on 16 August, and a Toppserien clash for Molde W against LSK Kvinner W on 22 August.
The schedule runs all the way through to late November, with headline Eliteserien visits from Bodø/Glimt and Viking still to come — ensuring Aker Stadion remains a focal point of Norwegian club football well into winter.
