SK Brann secured an impressive away win at Aker Stadion on Saturday, defeating Molde FK 2–1 in the Eliteserien. Brann led 2–0 at half-time and held on despite a Molde fightback in the second half. The defeat leaves Molde fifth in the table and desperate to return to winning ways on home soil.
Defeat at the Fjord
Molde FK suffered a 1–2 home defeat to SK Brann at Aker Stadion on Saturday, 18 July 2026, in what was one of the most anticipated Eliteserien fixtures of the summer. The match, refereed by Marius Lien, saw Brann take a commanding 0–2 lead at half-time before Molde pulled one back in the second half — but it was not enough to salvage a point on home soil.
The result is a blow for Molde, who currently sit fifth in the Eliteserien table on 20 points, and will be looking to regroup ahead of their next home league fixture against Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August.
A Tough Evening on the Fjord
Aker Stadion, with its capacity of 11,249, was the backdrop for a bruising encounter that highlighted the challenge Molde face in keeping pace with the top of the table. Brann arrived in strong form and were clinical in the first half, putting the home side firmly on the back foot from early on.
Molde's second-half response showed character, but the deficit proved too steep to overcome. It was the second consecutive home league match without a win at Aker Stadion, a run the club will be eager to end when fans pack the stands again in August.

Despite the setback, supporters have plenty to look forward to at Aker Stadion in the weeks ahead. The venue hosts Sarpsborg 08 FF on 2 August and Tromsø on 16 August, with the women's side, Molde W, also welcoming LSK Kvinner W on 22 August in the Toppserien.
With the club's home form now under scrutiny, the atmosphere inside the iconic fjord-side arena is set to be electric as Molde look to rediscover their best football in front of their own supporters.
