Six Home Games, Two Teams: Aker Stadion's Packed Autumn Ahead
With six Eliteserien fixtures still to host and Molde W active in the Toppserien, Aker Stadion is set for its busiest and most decisive autumn in years. The next home match arrives as early as Sunday 13 September, when Molde W face Hønefoss BK — with the Aalesund Eliteserien derby following just six days later. For supporters at the Romsdalsfjord venue, the season is far from over.
A Stadium Running at Full Tilt
Aker Stadion has rarely been busier than it is in the autumn of 2026. Having squeezed three home fixtures into August alone — including a 3–3 thriller against Sarpsborg 08 and a Toppserien clash between Molde W and LSK Kvinner W — the 11,249-capacity venue on the shores of the Moldefjord is now entering the most consequential stretch of its season.
Six home matches remain on the men's Eliteserien calendar, with the next arriving on 19 September when city-region rivals Aalesund make the trip to Romsdal.
Women's Football Keeps the Lights On
The men's schedule is only half the story. Molde W have called Aker Stadion home for every Toppserien fixture in 2026, and the arrangement continues this weekend with Hønefoss BK visiting on Sunday 13 September at 13:00. The women's side's sustained presence at the stadium has reinforced its standing as a genuine dual-purpose arena for top-flight Norwegian football.
The back-to-back scheduling of men's and women's fixtures in the same venue — and sometimes within days of each other — has become one of the defining features of Aker Stadion's 2026 calendar.
What the Autumn Holds
Beyond the Aalesund and Hønefoss matchdays, the fixture list at Aker Stadion reads like a who's who of the Eliteserien. Fredrikstad visit on 25 October, before title contenders Bodø/Glimt arrive on 20 November in what is likely to be one of the most anticipated home fixtures of the season. Viking then close the home programme on 4 December.
Molde FK are currently fourth in the table, and each of these remaining home dates carries direct implications for where the club will finish come the final whistle in December.
Planning Your Visit
Aker Stadion's facilities — a restaurant, a café, ten kiosks and eight commentary boxes — are built to accommodate supporters at every type of fixture, from a quiet Toppserien Sunday afternoon to a sold-out winter evening under the lights. Tickets for all remaining home games are on sale now through the official Molde FK ticketing platform.
