Tromsø Visit Headline a Triple-Header August at Aker Stadion
Aker Stadion hosts three home fixtures in August 2026, with Sunday's Eliteserien meeting against Tromsø the standout occasion. Molde, sitting fifth in the table with 24 points, are desperate for the three points. Tickets are available now through the official Molde FK platform.
A Packed August at the Fjordside Arena
Aker Stadion is heading into one of its busiest months of the 2026 season, with three home fixtures scheduled across the men's and women's programmes. The slate includes an Eliteserien encounter with Tromsø on 16 August, as well as a Toppserien clash when Molde W host LSK Kvinner W on 22 August.
The Tromsø match, with kick-off set for 17:00 on Sunday, is already on sale through the official Molde FK ticketing platform. Supporters are reminded that the away end is restricted to the designated section on the Istad tribune, and that bottles and away colours are not permitted in other stands.
Molde Chasing Ground in the Eliteserien Table
The home fixture against Tromsø comes at a critical moment in the league campaign. Molde currently sit fifth in the Eliteserien table with 24 points from 16 matches, one point behind fourth-placed Lillestrøm and two ahead of sixth-placed Brann.
The stakes are clear: a win at Aker Stadion could propel Molde back into the upper reaches of the table, while anything less would allow the chasing pack to apply further pressure. The 11,249-capacity arena by the fjord will be hoping for the kind of atmosphere that has made it one of the most distinctive grounds in Norwegian football.
A Summer That Has Proved the Stadium's Broader Role
Beyond the league drama, the summer of 2026 has reinforced Aker Stadion's place at the heart of the Molde community. On 13 July, the ground hosted a Minnekamp — a memorial match — demonstrating that the venue serves purposes well beyond competitive football.
The stadium, inaugurated on 18 April 1998 and designed by local architect Kjell Kosberg, has operated on artificial turf since 2014, allowing fixtures to be staged throughout the Norwegian season regardless of the weather. With a further run of home dates stretching deep into December — including mouth-watering clashes against Bodø/Glimt and Viking — there is plenty still to look forward to on the banks of the Romsdalsfjord.
